Houses where (are) built with bricks (often homemade in the past). Walls are 1 foot thick with inside walls plastered and usually outside as well. Clay tiles are the most common roofing material.  Most houses are part of a tall wall that surrounds the property that includes a barn, corn bin, fruit & nut trees,  grape vines.
